Healthy Turkey Alternative Recipe

There is so much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. But in the rush of meal preparation and family gatherings, we often forget to reflect on the abundance in our lives. Maybe it’s the loved ones you chat with every morning, the warmth of a place to sleep, a job that sustains you, or the energy that keeps you going throughout the day. Thanksgiving should be about honoring these gifts—especially our health.

Below is a fun, easy, health-conscious alternative to your favorite turkey dish. This recipe is designed to help you feel good about what’s on your plate and what you’re giving to those around you.

    • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
    • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
    • 1 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp black pepper
    • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth

    Instructions:

    1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
    2. Mix olive oil, garlic, thyme, rosemary, sage, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
    3. Rub the herb mixture all over the turkey breast.
    4. Place the turkey on a rack in a roasting pan, adding the broth to the pan bottom.
    5. Roast for 2 to 2.5 hours, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
    6. Let rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

    Why It’s Healthier:

    • Lower Sodium: Fresh herbs replace salt-heavy seasonings.
    • Healthy Fats: Olive oil is a better alternative to butter, reducing unhealthy fats.
